![]() will all humans be liveing on space stations 100 to 200 years from now? i want to if all the humans on earth will be moved from earth to space stations threw out space because earth is falling a part i also want to no if we can move far enough away to were we want have to worry bout when the sun turns to the violent red giant stage we need to learn a way to grow plants without the sun and i saw were they had led lighting that grew a plant better then the sun but if what i read is true about all the electricity on the space station will be powered by solar power without the sun there will be no sun for the solar panels can all these problems be solved and tell me what u think are have heard about other problems i want to no so bad because i might still be a round by that time with what im hearing a bout medical science and im only 15 so i hope the medical science of nano tech is round by the time im 30 are 40 so i will live to the time we get on space stations just please reply back with as much info as possible this stuff scares the living crap out of me Please read up on 'sentences'. There pretty nifty and you didn't use a single one in that question... when was I supposed to breath while reading that? I nearly died. 1st off. You are right that the world is going to s**t, but exodus into space will never be the answer. It costs the cargo's weight in gold to lift it up to space... bringing up a few thousand people would and all the supplies needed to keep them alive and constructing a space station large enough to house them all would probably cost the GDP (gross domestic product... how much money a nation makes in a year) of the entire planet. And thats just a few thousand people... the equivalent to a small town. Rocketry is FAR to inefficient to be used for such acts. Maybe if material science progresses enough to produce tethers which can withstand enough strain as to allow a space elevator we will be able to bring people and stuff up there in large quantities, but that is still a long ways off. As of now we will be putting an outpost on the Moon before anything else (if Congress ever gets around to forking up the budget). After that we will probably build a replacement for the space station and then a trip to Mars... maybe after that a permanent outpost on Mars. Now this will take a long time and will cost billions upon billions of dollars. A space COLONY will not be feesable in your life time... period (FYI a period is something you use in a sentence). And don't worry about the sun becoming a red giant, consuming Mercurey and Venus, and incinerating Earth's surface. That is 5 billion years off... life has only been here for 4 billion years so we aren't half way there yet. In all honesty mankind will have either died off or evolved into something that in no way resembles current man... I would just stick to worrying about global warming like every one else =) And about medical science. Don't get your hopes up about living to 300 or anything. Every generation since the fifties gets promised flying cars and robotic servants, yet it never pans out. Chances are when you die the only thing different technology wise is that ipods will hold all songs instead of 100,000... not to glamorous but thats reality for you. I plan to live to about 80 or so... so should you. |
